Destinta’s new R-rating policy

From Alissa Greenberg ’08:

Destinta has this bullshit new policy wherein you must have an ID to get into an R rated movie no matter if you have a college ID and it says you are a junior. Which means that international students who have no federal ID can’t see R rated movies.

I’m hoping that maybe the guy at the window was just a new worker and misunderstood, but if not, something must be done. Call Destinta at (860) 346-4000 and let them know what you think.

That’s been the policy in Connecticut for as long as I can remember. If you don’t have an ID saying that you’re over 17, you can’t get into R movies. You can’t buy liquor with a college ID saying that you’re a senior, either, so why would movies be any different? Also, why can’t international students use their passports?
