Green Street next week

From Lex Leifheit, our Green Street guygal:

Last night, while Wesleyan students were making a beeline from RIDE to Hair of the Dog and the Gatekeeper, some grad students were playing amazing, live music to an empty house at Nikita’s a few storefronts down.

If you are coming to the North End next week, here are a few items for your agenda:

Name: Ethnomusicology Music Jam
Date:Wednesday, October 18
Time: 9:30pm-Close
Venue: Nikita’s

Being typical grad students, they don’t want to be pigeonholed—but a group of students are playing piano, bass, guitar and other instruments I didn’t recognize and they are good. And it’s free. Nikita’s is on Main St. near the corner of Main & Washington.

Name: Art Night Out
Date: Thursday, October 19
Time: 5:30-7pm
Venue: Luce

Mingle with your professors & Middletownies while enjoying free hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Admission is $5 and includes free admission to …

Name: Celtic Music Concert
Date: Thursday, October 19
Time: 8-9:30pm
Venue: Green Street Arts Center

Wesleyan private lessons instructors Dora Hast, Sally Perreten and Stan Scott perform Irish tunes in a cabaret-like setting. Wine and light refreshments are served (must be over 21 to drink). Space is limited and tix are only $5 so please please please call in advance. 860-685-7871.
