Washington Social Club

The Washington Social Club and The Fusty Nuts will be playing a free concert in the Alpha Delta Phi living room on Saturday

Emily Gallivan ’08 tells us that “The Washington Social Club is a damn fun band, a combination of energy and idea in equal measure. Formed in 2002 by Martin Royle, Olivia Mancini and Randall Scope, WSC quickly became DC hottest young band, with appearances on MTV, The Carson Daily Show, and numerous articles in The Washington Post. The release of their first album “Catching Looks” got the band national attention and strong reviews from The Onion, Blender, Rolling Stone and The Alternative Press. “Catching Looks” was both a self-aware portrayal of life in modern America, and a hats-off salute to sex and drugs.”

“They toured the album extensively, opening and playing with big names such as Hot Hot Heat, Stars, Presidents of the United States of America and Phantom Planet. They also added a man; DC guitar God Evan Featherstone was brought in to expand the bands taught sound. Progress was made and WSC’s music took an impressive step forward.”
