Don’t forget our friends!

Getting back into the swing of things: Classes, friends, overheated dorms, some sort of stress, some sort of drama. At this start of the new semester, we’d like to remind you to visit our friends at WesConfess and Incite Magazine: One to get you dirty and the other to make you clean.

I don’t know anyone at Wesconfess, but if you’re really worried, there’s like a kajillion ways to make yourself anonymous, IP-wise.And if you’re really paranoid about people snooping this sort of information, it’s probably worth noting that a great deal of electronic communication is anything but private. If you’re *that* worried about the anonymous confession board being tracked, I hope you’re also encrypting your IM traffic, your email messages, your wireless connection in a reasonable way, AND making sure your passwords are not been transmitted in the clear. Chances are the information that could be gleamed by these transmissions are far more valuable than anything someone could learn about you on the anonymous confession board (which would be what, that you have a crush on so-and-so?)

I understand everyone’s cynicism, but I happen to know the webmaster, and ze has only the best intentions. I can’t imagine ze ever doing any of the things people assume ze made WesConfess for. Ze just wanted to do a service for the Wes community, and ze happens to like web design.

wesconfess is not anonymous, the webmaster can get your IP and resolve your hostname (for example, bjordan.stu)
