On April 14 (that’s a Saturday), there’s going to be a FREE trip to the Museum of Chinese in the Americas in New York. You can sign up by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org, but e-mails will only be accepted starting after exactly noon on April 1st. There are only 30 spots available, and it’s on a first-come-first-served basis, so if you’re interested, make sure to get your e-mail ready and click “Send” right as the clock turns (sorry upperclassmen, I know you thought the stressful days of the click system were over). They’ll also only take one name from each e-mail.
The bus leaves at 8:15 am from the Mansfield Freeman Center on Washington Street. The Museum of Chinese in the Americas (MoCA – http://www.moca-nyc.org) is the first fulltime, professionally staffed museum dedicated to reclaiming, preserving, and interpreting the history and culture of Chinese and their descendants in the Western Hemisphere. The guided tour takes about an hour and visitors are free to check out other galleries in MoCA. In addition, the participants would be provided with a ticket to The Asia Society in the afternoon. The bus would leave Rockefeller Center for Middletown at 8pm.
This trip is sponsored by the Freeman Asian/Asian American Initiative.
