It’s the MGMT!

It’s The Money Shot! brings you the latest leaked MGMT track from their upcoming album… As well as musings on what Kids means to Wesleyan:

The song was released the year before I entered college, and survived five years as a staple at dance parties and secret interpretational dance adventures. It got to the point that it was played enough times that hipsters scoffed at it just as easily as they would if you tried to play Billy Joel’s “Only the Good Die Young” (unironically). I expect that “Kids” will be passed down generation to generation. If it isn’t, I might cry. And I’m pretty sure the class of 2013 won’t want to see me cry. So it’s in your hands current generations– Pass that shit like you pass blunts on Foss Hill.

Class of 2011: MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD KIDS. You will hear it often. It might as well be the true Wesleyan Fight Song. It represents so much and has affected me so greatly that I swear to god if I hear it during senior week I’ll burst into tears.

MGMT hates playing this song. They are sick to death of it. They tried to get contractually protected against playing it ever again, and they certainly don’t want to make a video for it. Leave them alone.

Personally, I think ‘Kids’ sucks. So there. “Do They Owe Us a Living” = Real WesAnthem.

Come to think of it. I DIDN’T hear it during senior week. I think it’s time for my own set of tears. This is the only song that makes me feel nostalgic about college.
