Wanted: IMS Copyeditor

IMS is looking to update their website and they’re looking for a copyeditor. As Vernon describes:

We’ve written a lot of content and need other content. We also have started a section for stories about our group. So we’re looking for someone who wants to rewrite a lot of what we’ve written, interview us, and write some stories. It should be a pretty comfy job, and it will be paid. Ideally this person would work with us in our cool office (sometime between 9 and 5), but if they’re already working somewhere else, then they might be able to work from home. They can e-mail me (Vernon at lthommeret@wes) if they’re interested, what kind of writing they’ve done, and a writing sample (preferably).

Hi Joshua,That’s one of the problems :). You can find the current website here:http://www.wesleyan.edu/its/labs/For a few different reasons, we’re limited in where we can use the name IMS (Instructional Media Services).IMS is a one of the student-employed groups of ITS (the other being Help Desk). We have four major sub-groups: Lab Consultants (provide lab help), Lab/Classroom Technicians (make sure everything is working), Special Events (responsible for shooting and editing all events on campus), and Programming (different programming projects and coding the touchpanels in the classrooms). We’re planning on expanding, but those are the core of what we do. E-mail me if you’re interested. To anyone else interested: I’ll probably be done taking applications by Wednesday or Thursday. If it’s hard for us to decide, we’ll have each applicant write up a 1 paragraph sample description of a lab we choose. Then I’ll present the samples anonymously and we’ll choose which one we like best. That said, those who are on campus and can meet with us have a definite advantage. Otherwise you should expect to spend a decent amount of time talking with us on the phone or video chatting. Thanks!Vernon
