Today, Xue and I went to check out Usdanistan. When we got there, Timothy Shiner graciously took us on a tour of the facility. Here’s what we saw:

See all of our pics here.
Sorry we don’t have much to say about it today. We’ve had a really, really, really long day. But we’re very, very, very excited and you should be, too.
I hope my mailbox is low enough for me to reach it…

Thanks for the pics, I can always count on Wesleying.

the lines will probably be insane the first few days because a) the lines the first few days of school were always crazy b) everyone wants to try out the uz, and c) people will not have quite gotten into a good rhythm, but hopefully after the initial insanity it should calm down.P.S. I AM LE JEALOUS

It looks pretty, that’s for sure. I’m nervous about all the Mocon and Davenport people combined merging into one place – I feel like the lines are going to be totes ridic.Oh well – by the time I get there in the spring, everyone else will have figured out the best way to do things, and they can just tell me, so all is well. :D

So wesleying is officially validating uzdanistan as our official nickname for usdan. I say, garbage wesleying, absolute garbage as usual!

I don’t know how all those tiny, round tables will play out. I mean, who eats lunch with only two other people?

After a year or so it’ll get broken in and look like home. That’s some nifty furniture. Hopefully they won’t have to chain the furniture to the floor.

The rear of the building (the side facing Andrus) is especially nice. It’s got a nice, wide patio area that they dropped the trees into yesterday. The second- and third-floor decks overlooking the field are nice, as well. Overall, though, the whole thing looks like some corporate meeting space, or some big state-school student center.Which has its ups and downs. I guess I just need to get used to the change. Davenport was so cozy compared to Uzi. :-P
