Ashley Casale ’10 has made it to Washington, DC.
An undeclared sophomore-to-be at Wesleyan who plans to major in environmental studies and music when she returns to the Middletown campus in January, Casale had attended her share of anti-war rallies. But she wanted to get beyond the “preaching to the choir” mentality that mass protests generate.
“Getting into conversations with the people we met in cafes in small towns has made this more meaningful,” Casale said. “These people wouldn’t have come to a rally on Washington.”
