In a list called 100 Reasons to Learn Something, Martha Stewart offers former Wesleyan Professor Lynn Owens‘ cookbook as one of those things…Martha Stewart fans…should learn about …

68. Experience a new variety of tasty licks courtesy of “cool-kid” bands: Find favorite recipes from Animal Collective and Black Dice, to name a few, in “Lost in the Supermarket: The Indie Rock Cookbook” by Kay Bozich Owens and Lynn Owens.

I’m speechless. (Actually, the article itself is from a really good magazine called Blueprint, but Martha’s conglomerating ways have subsumed it, thus placing all things evidently indie under her ubiquitous label.)

This is the first thing that has made me see the Gawker side of the “most annoying liberal arts school” title. For about 3 seconds, I was super excited that a Wesleyan prof had written a cookbook, but then it was an “indie rock” cook book. I hate my life.
