Someone’s getting fired

The US Department of State has a blog.

A blog called…Wait for it…

It sounds like such an amazing insult. “Don’t be a dipnote!” Or even better, keep it in all caps–“That kid who always sits in the front row is such a DIPNOTE.” “Some DIPNOTE stole my laptop.” “Man, Marianna is way too good for that DIPNOTE.” DIPNOTE is the new douchebag. Spread the word.

Thanks, House!

WOW, who would have guessed that “dipnote” was short for “diplomatic note”! Anyway, funny enough to pass on so I posted it over at ConPunk.

Yeah, I’m gonna go with the yay area theory. Someone in the US State Department is getting hyphy. Those guys attach the word “dip” to anything. Dipset, gas break, diip, diiiiip, and now dipnote.

From the Dipnote blog:”We’re new at this. It looks like we broke our own rule and used State jargon in our blog title. ‘Dipnote’ refers to a diplomatic note. It is one of the many ways in which governments formally communicate with each other.”

Maybe this doesn’t belong here, but I’m really freaked over the word “WESLEYING” hidden in white letters above your logo.
