Um… Pre-registration is broken?

EDIT: So, yeah, it’s back up. Yeah, I missed getting into a class because it was screwed up too. Good luck with your schedule.

So far as I can tell, WesMaps thinks it’s drop/add time for our current schedules, instead of adjustment-period time for next semester’s schedules. Adjustment period starts for the first batch of people in twenty minutes… Is anyone else having this problem?

I’m writing about this failure for Friday’s Argus (and lived through it). If anyone wants a good stage for their complaints, please send me an email:dlevine01@wes

Yeah, I think it would have been more appropriate to offset adjustment one day so that we are all still on the same page, instead of making it go away real quick and pretending like it didn’t happen…I might have done the same thing though, if I were the programmer responsible for making it work…I decided to take a shower while it was down and also didn’t catch it as it went up, and missed getting into a class.

great, I wasn’t one of the first people to realize it was back up, and then all the seats in the class I wanted were gone. The whole point of staggering the system and giving us a definite start time is for everyone to have a fair chance. If it randomly starts working around 8:25 instead of 8, it ceases to be fair. Now my schedule is messed up. Thanks, registrar!

At this point, I think they should keep the whole thing shut down until they can give us at least 8 hrs notice, seeing how we’re all awake early, have classes today, and have been pwned by pre-reg.

If they knew there was something wrong with the program they could’ve sent a goddamn email. Do they have any idea how inconvenient this is? Or how this might completely screw up our semesters?

This sucks. I have better things to be doing than refreshing the page in hopes it will be back to normal.

It starts different days for different people, depending on how many courses you’ve gotten so far. If you have less than three, then you get to start adding classes with seats today (so the folks who didn’t do so hot in the first part get the first pick now). If you have three, it starts tomorrow, and if you have four, the next day. I think. It would be nice if it was magically fixed at 8:00. I guess we’ll find out.

Yeah, but I have no idea how adjustment really works anyway. Maybe it’s set to start working when the adjustment period opens. Which I thought was today and just lasted for a week or so, but apparently it happens in batches.
