All I know is food

For the record, that last post was actually Xue. But I am a good eater, so I would like to let the carnivores out there know that the pastrami sandwiches at Kosher right now are astronomically delicious.

For VDS, vegan has “Sweet and Sour Satan”

ciao (chow?)

I had no idea Satan was vegan. I guess I always assumed that devil was a kind of meat. Go figure.

I find these argument oh SO persuasive, but what I’m really wondering is: do you have any helpful videos to show us?

excellent point. plants make up the vast majority of your food supply both in the culinary sense and on a practical, ecological level. so these meat eaters actually eat more plants than VDS, except when we do it nobody has to have her skull smashed with a bolt gun or have the blood drained from her still-beating heart. go figure

actually, all meat IS plant-based. in the U.S. we feed 70% of our corn/wheat/other grains to animals so that one day we can eat THEM.this is the main reason that livestock production accounts for over 80% of the country’s agricultural land (and half the drinkable water)…eating this low on the food chain never felt so efficient

i made the statistic up, but the point is not very difficult to comprehend, and i would imagine the real figure is roughly in that neighborhood. think about the half dozen or so types of meat that are commonly consumed, and contrast that with the hundreds of different kinds of fruits, grains, vegetables, etc in your diet. lets assume worst case scenario – you go to mcdonalds and get a hamburger. the bread, lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup, onion, pickles, fries, and drink are all plant derived. if you simply substitute the meat for a grain or bean based patty you have what is basically a herbivorous dish. i strongly encourage you to attempt a similar substitution with the end result being that your meal consists entirely of animal products. it is simply not possible. maybe you can occasionally eat meat exclusively in a sitting, say a steak dinner, but try doing this at every meal without facing dire health consequences. humans need plants to live, but thousands of veg(etari)ans survive easily without meat. this is because a vegetarian diet is bountiful, with far more options than one could possibly ever ingest. the loss of meat is negligible when it comes to preserving the variety of ones diet.

Okay, “1:44” you clearly don’t get it. VDS flames every post we make that mentions meat, which, to be fair, is their job. I was just trying to be playful/head off the imminent ALLCAPSTIMEZNAO! attack. I know that they don’t check your vegan card when you eat there.

you arent a carnivore. ‘carnivore’ refers to those for whom meat is the primary or exclusive source of nutrition. the term is also used to designate animals who survive mostly or entirely by hunting living prey and/or scavenging carcasses. neither definition applies to you. youre an omnivore, as is every healthy meat eating human alive. youre a passive, non-predatory omnivore whose meat comes wrapped in cellophane at the supermarket.90% of what you eat is already plant-based, but youre too stubborn and lazy to shift around the remaining 10 and help out a billion creatures who are screaming in fear and agony at this very moment. that makes you the asshole.

did you know there are some vegans on campus with a sense of humor? VDS is militantly against boring people who cant take a joke, regardless of what their diet is
