Blogger Nerds

There has been a noticeable absence of YouTube posts to Wesleying lately, but this one has a silken thread of a Wesleyan connection: a Wesleyan alum and I are shown blogging during one of the transition shots. The rest of the video is pretty good too, and will be especially interesting to those interested in the rise of political blogs (particularly on the left) and the democratization of media.

This video is the fourth in a series of “nerd of the week” videos put out to promote the film Nerdcore Rising.

The Nerdcore Rising movie-making team brings you another episode of the not-exactly-weekly series, Nerd of the Week. This new episode was shot entirely on location at blogger nerd mecca, The YearlyKos Convention, in Chicago, IL. For these bloggers, the laptop is their third arm, words are their lightsabers, dot-blogspot-dot-com is their mating call and in this episode they try to woo us to the blog side of the nerdosphere. Watch, enjoy, blog.

At 4:40 I can be seen unraveling the power cord to my notebook, sitting next to a class of ’00 alum who’s wearing an orange shirt. Like I said, the Wesleyan connection is minute.
