On Tuesday, January 29, 2008, Wesleyan University will celebrate the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon, a singer and composer who founded the internationally renowned a cappella ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock, will join us for the celebration. Dr. Reagon, who received an honorary degree from Wesleyan in 2001, will facilitate a lunch discussion and give the keynote address at the community-wide celebration to be held at 4:15 pm in Memorial Chapel. This celebration also will feature music from the Roadside Girls and The Ebony Singers, a student reflection, remarks from President Michael S. Roth and excerpts from Dr. King’s 1964 Baccalaureate Address.
