Directing I scene auditions

Nick Singer ’11 writes:

The Directing I class is auditioning actors for scenes from the works of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, and Jean Anouilh. Each of these 11 scenes is for two actors and will be approximately 10 minutes in length; we need a total of 22 actors. Those who are cast will recieve .5 credits from the theatre department- that’s right, you get half a credit just for acting, no papers, tests, or quizzes. All scenes are student selected and directed. Rehearsal schedules will be decided upon by individual directors and their actors, so they will be flexible and made with your other commitments in mind.

Those who wish to audition should prepare one two-minute long classical monologue. A sign up sheet is on the board at the Theater Department, immediately to your left when you walk in. You MUST sign up if you wish to recieve an audition slot. We encourage students of all experience levels and backgrounds to audition- this is a great way to get familiar with Wesleyan Theatre in a friendly, exciting environment, or the perfect way to endulge your theatrical appetite if you are looking for something a little lower-key than a full-scale faculty or Second Stage production.
