Got a taste for the frosty wonder we so humbly call beer? Have wet dreams about that Imperial Stout with 102 IBUs you had once in Oregon, but whose name you cannot remember? Want to put your chemistry talents to practical use? The Wesleyan Homebrewing Club may be for you.
And the best part? YOU DON’T NEED TO BE 21! Until it starts fermenting, it’s perfectly legal for you to possess malt, hops, grains and yeast!
This also means that NO ALCOHOL WILL BE SERVED. (Sorry) But as some remarkably wise person once said: Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach same man to brew, and he’ll never go fishing again.
Advantages to brewing your own beer? Not only is it cheaper, but it will be the best beer you’ve ever smelled, tasted and loved. Plus, if you get into gardening as well, you can be self-sufficient with regard to many of your vices.
WHERE: 88 Home
WHEN: Thursday, February 7th, 5:00 PM
WHAT YOU GET: A comprehensive lesson on the equipment, ingredients and skills you need to brew a batch of beer (it’s actually not very hard). Also, if you can prove you are 21, you will get one of the beers from the sample batches we’ll brew (but not for two or three weeks: it has to ferment, clarify, condition and carbonate).
