In honor of Black History Month, Shabbat services this week will have an anti-oppression theme. Drawing heavily on the writings of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, and others, we will explore the responsibilities and interrelatedness we all share as human beings, focusing particularly on the special relationship between the African-American and Jewish communities in the U.S. The service will feature some of the regular Friday night Shabbat prayers, as well as additional songs, poems, and speeches. All are invited!
