the people in the military want the war to end just as much as we do. they didnt choose to go there. they were ordred by their government.there is a difference between wanting to protect your country and wanting to shoot anything that moves. show some respect, damnit.

or, you know, you could volunteer for the democratic nominee once they’re chosen, call some people in ohio and pennsylvania and get hill/obama elected so they can end the war, something like that.the city of Middletown has significant influence over the military base, whereas the recruiting office on main street has absolutely no influence over the iraq war, that should be obvious.

and the people who are planning to build this military base work the US government and i mean they’re such a gigantic entity that no one can ever have any effect on them whatsoever… in fact why dont all of us liberals just go into gopher-like hiding underground since nothing makes a difference anyway?

Come on, people, the staff at the recruitment office are just working stiffs, for all you know they’re against the Iraq war as much as you are. This is a selfish act – this allows you to feel good about yourselves, makes life difficult for the staff at the recruiting office, and has absolutely zero impact on the course of the war.
