In the Buff

Abercrombie & Fitch has just come out with a new lingerie line called Gilly Hicks, which is located at only 5 stores in the world – including the local WestFarms Mall in Farmington. The whole “scandal” behind this line is their promo video, which includes lots of naked girls running, and swimming, and more running, and walking around a clothesline with really ugly bras and panties. Check out the video (you have to be 18 or older to access it).

@ nance -In my observations, open mindedness is more equivocal to a lack of convictions and confidence in them. Doubtlessly, we should all be willing to consider and exam ideas intellectually, but when Christianity says something is sin, that does not disallow for discussion on the truth of that. Admittedly, Christians (not Christianity) could do for a humble outlook on many things; but judge Christianity for what it is, and not by those who claim allegiance to it.

Open minded? As if this were some piece of art that needed to be appreciated? Everyone throws around “open minded” and “close minded” as if herein lies the ultimate failure of Christianity… even when the situation doesn’t call for such battle cries at all. Even the most “close minded” observer could appreciate this for what it is… raunch as advertising. Nothing more.

… but not enough “counter-socialization” (which in itself is a form of socialization) to realize that the girl is undeserving of props, because her giggle is most certainly scripted.

I’m glad I’ve had enough counter-socialization to not find those skeletal girls attractive. Props to the girl who giggles at the naked guy. Naked boys are adorably silly looking.

“gilly hicks” stupidest, most-pretentious-sounding name ever which fails miserably at sounding ‘old money’ …so very, very miserably.

It seems like 95% of Abercrombie’s publicity results from them putting out images of naked people and then relying on the news stories about people who are outraged that they’ve put out images of naked people.
