If you want to waste even more hours of your life, Carolyn Abram and Leah Pearlman have just created Facebook for Dummies. Apparently you can learn how about “creating a Facebook profile that enhances your real world relationships” and “taking advantage of free and paid ways to use Facebook for busines”. But with some kid getting busted for creating a study group on Facebook for his college, is this really the best thing to put out? (Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that Abram and Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg have been friends since the days of kindergarten).

If anything, the facebook study group incident serves as an example giving weight to books like this. Apparently, there ARE dummies who don’t realize the implications of putting private things on public forums. Dummies.

there’s also a website called facebooking101. according to the site (which is really poorly organized), “Facebooking101.com is for people who love Facebook, and those who want to get the most out of their daily Facebooking experience. Featuring the latest in Facebook news, blog postings, official updates, profile hacks & tweaks and more, the site aims to be a valuable resource for Facebookers worldwide.” they have this weird “status generator” that will generate a random facebook status for you (http://facebooking101.com/modules/facebook-status/). it’s sortof like this random surrealism generator, which i love: http://www.ravenblack.net/random/surreal.htmlyup.
