Reminder – Mike Gravel tonight

Erstwhile rival to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, Gravel was the last Democrat to leave the race. Now he’s a Libertarian and he’ll be up against Bob Barr to see who gets to play spoiler in November. Come hear him talk about “Direct Democracy” – his idea to legislate through referendums.

This will be Wesleyan’s first direct visit by a political candidate since the WSA convinced the administration to let candidates hold events on campus. Earlier this year the policy change allowed Ned Lamont and Kal Penn to hold a rally for Barack Obama over in Exley.

    I’m glad he came and I’m glad I went, though I think I disagree with his opinions more now than I did before I heard him speak (or really understood what his opinions were…) Interesting. Thanks, whoever got this event sponsored and happening!
