Children’s Book on … Plastic Surgery

A new book for children ages 4-7, called My Beautiful Mommy, has just been published to tell kids what happens when their moms get plastic surgery. While the author, a plastic surgeon from Florida, claims that this is supposed to be an instructional book that helps kids explain what might be confusing to them, many people are outraged by the pictures and text. On one page the mother says
“that’s sweet of you to say honey, but Mommy is also having her tummy made smaller. You see, as I get older, my body stretched and I couldn’t fit into my clothes anymore. Dr. Michael is going to help fix that and make me feel better.“
