Justin LaSelva for Senior Class Representative

Fellow members of the class of ’09:

I’m running for Senior Class Representative because I want to make a difference—to leave Wesleyan in a better state than we found it. I’m running because I care: about Wes, and about you. You can see my platform, The Cardinal Points, at my campaign website.

Most importantly, I have a determination to represent your interests—since the only way that we can guarantee a stellar senior year is by working together.
Please allow me the honor of serving as your Senior Class Representative by voting today. Thanks!

Justin put up a message beforehand asking people to send statements to us…and it’s something I’d really like to see people do more of!It’s almost impossible to get a feel for someone in the few hundred words the WSA allows each candidate.

I wrote a blog post on Wesleying last night, soliciting statements and media from all WSA candidates:”For candidates seeking publicity on Wesleying, please send a statement and/or other media to wesleying@gmail.com. All candidates will have equal access to posting for the duration of the election.”I think I speak for all of us at Wesleying, when I say that I hope all the candidates will present themselves here on the blog!

Before anyone else gets the idea that a contributor to Wesleying posting about hir own candidacy for something is “shameless” I would like to point out that the barrier for entry to be a contributor is low/non-existent and there is nothing stopping the other candidates from becoming contributors.Another thing is that I just checked the Wesleying inbox, and at the moment there are no messages from other candidates who wish to have their statements posted on Wesleying. If any candidate wishes to be represented here, ze needs only to submit a statement to the inbox. I’d bet that Justin himself would cheerfully post it.Finally, the fact that Justin is a contributor to Wesleying is relevant to his candidacy. His work on this blog is one of the things he has done to make Wesleyan a better place.
