Yom Hashoah events today & tomorrow

Yom Hashoah falls on Friday, May 2nd this year and is the annual Jewish “Day of Remembrance.” Tradition dictates that we commemorate the victims who were murdered in the Holocaust on this day.

Two events are occurring as part of Yom Hashoah this year at Wesleyan – a 24-hour name reading, and a program tonight in Memorial Chapel:

What: 24-hour Name Reading
Where: Exley Science Center lobby (we moved to our rain location)
When: 6 pm Thursday, May 1 (tonight!) to 6 pm, Friday, May 2

What: Yom Hashoah program, with 4 speakers who have learned the stories of individual Holocaust survivors; I’ve heard they’re amazing speakers, with powerful stories to tell
Where: Memorial Chapel
When: 7:30 pm, TONIGHT, Thursday, May 1
