Remember orientation week your freshman year, and the alternately moving/intense/hilarious/powerful/silly performance “In The Company of Others,” where students talked about their personal experiences?
If you want to participate in it yourself, they’re still looking for performers. Tim Shiner from SALD sends us the details:
The program is intended to introduce new students to the diverse backgrounds and experiences present in the Wesleyan student body and to provoke discussion amongst new students regarding the meaning of living in such a vibrant and diverse community. The Orientation Program is currently seeking returning students to share their stories as part of this program for Orientation 2008.
Interested students should submit a one-two paragraph synopsis of the story they would like to share with new students to orientation@wesleyan.edu no later than May 16th, 2008. Selected performers will be asked to return to campus on Friday, August 22nd to begin rehearsals. They will be able to move into their fall housing assignments at that time and meals will be provided for them until Saturday, August 30th, at which time they will begin their fall meal plan.
For additional information, please contact Timothy Shiner, Director of Orientation Programs at tshiner@wesleyan.edu, x2467 or in Usdan 124.
