Jewish East European (Yiddish) Dance Workshop with Michael Alpert
Description: In this participatory workshop, leading Yiddish dance authority and researcher Michael Alpert (of Brave Old World and Khevrisa) teaches the Jewish wedding dances traditionally done to klezmer music: the freylekhs, sher, bulgar, and others. The line, circle, and partner dances create the framework for the cultural and social experience that is Yiddish celebration at its best. You’re welcome to come in any condition.
