I’ve been craving bubble tea since my last foray to Quickly in November, so when I heard that Sweet Harmony on Broad Street was now offering it, I enthusiastically jotted down plans in Google Calendar and promptly forgot about it. Today in a psyc paper-induced slump, fellow blogger Braille and I finally headed down to test the waters.
This isn’t your everyday bubble tea. It’s remarkably thick, but in a good way, with a generous helping of tapioca cooked to just the right amount of QQ texture. No gritty or frozen centers here. Think of the best milkshake you’ve ever had had, bring down the temperature just a notch and add boba. It took a little longer to get our drinks than at a typical bubble tea joint, but that’s because they were pretty much making it from scratch–We could hear the blenders going from our comfy armchairs. You could tell that it was actual mangoes going into the drink and not just mango flavoring. Two amply-sized drinks cost $6.75 including tax, and we got free oatmeal and raisin cookies!
They carry pina colada, mango and strawberry bubble tea at the moment. I’ll definitely be headed back for more during Senior Week. Go check it out: Sweet Harmony is located at 158 Broad St.
Braille adds: They have arguably the best decor of any dining establishment in town. If you’re into that sort of thing.
