Weshop Weekend Hours

WSA Dining Committee chair Becky Weiss ’10 is working with Bon Appetit to tweak the hours Weshop will be open on weekends next year, and wants to hear your thoughts.

Please answer this quick survey question about Weshop hours. Note that we can only shift the hours around – we do not have the option of simply adding more.

Weshop is currently open 2-6 on Fridays and Saturdays and 12-12 on Sundays. A few years ago, the Saturday hours were extended from 6 to 8, but very few people took advantage of the additional time. A poll like this is hardly scientific, but we’re hoping you’ll use it to give us an idea of whether it makes sense to adjust the Friday hours.

Suggestions welcome in the comments!

Update: There was a mistake in the original poll and it had to be reset. Please recast your votes! Sorry about that.

As someone who spends all her waking hours in scili, I’d love for either Pi or Weshop to be open from 11-1 on saturday and sunday.

student employees don’t want to work late on Fridays and Saturdays. 2-6 allows the early shifts to be pushed forward too. think that’s why it is between lunch and dinner (guessing). i feel like it would be tough to get someone to sign off all their Friday or Saturday nights for a semester when we sign up for shifts. tough call.

Agreed. Unfortunately it doesn’t make economic sense, which totally sucks. Thanks people for your feedback! I appreciate it.-Becky

None of these times is that great, in my opinion, though thanks, Becky, for working on this. I really wish Weshop could be open until 10 on Fri/Sat.

It sucks that Weshop doesn’t open until after lunchtime and then closes before dinner on Friday/Saturday. When do they think we eat? It’s so silly.

9:11, I think it’s all because of the high cost of labor (which is well-deserved)

i’d like to see the cafes’ hours tweaked, too–why have both pi and usdan open at 8:00 weekdays? maybe open the usdan cafe later on weekdays and have pi stay open longer on weekends?just my 2 cents.

How about Friday hours that coincide with an actual mealtime instead of fitting neatly after lunch and before dinner?
