If you’re a senior (or just around for senior week), Waste Not! wants your stuff…because you don’t…right? Anyway, most of the PODs are gone (they got taken away yesterday, I think). Here’s my other post on the program; the gist is that we collect stuff people don’t want, sort it, store it over the summer (on campus, so we don’t have to pay to rent a space), and then sell it back to people (both students and Middletown residents, I hope) for super cheap in the fall. The money goes to Amazing Grace (a food pantry in Middletown) and the CT River Watch Program (a soil and water conservation/watershed protection non-profit).
If you have something to donate, call or email (650-575-7969 or weseon@gmail.com). The sooner you call/email, the better (so if you can, round up your stuff THIS WEEK…if everyone calls on Monday we won’t be able to handle it, since most of the people working the program are leaving then). You tell us where you are, leave your stuff outside/on the porch/somewhere nearby (if it’s not raining), and we pick it up.
hmm, yeah, westco was crazy. we went through yesterday again and took everything we thought was reusable. it’s possible that we missed some things, since this is only the second year of the program and we’re really still figuring out how to manage such a massive amount of stuff. i’ll definitely note that it was a problem area for next year.

hmm, actually, we went around to each dorm twice and picked up everything that wasn’t moldy/gross/unusable/half-eaten food. is there a specific place we missed that you’re referring to?

all of the stuff left in the dorms was thrown out by cleaning staff.if you are going to set up these drives, make sure to pick the items up (which would have otherwise been put in PODS)
