Hackers Break into Our System

The Hartford Courant just reported that hackers broke into Connecticut College library system in order to set up chat rooms or spam e-mails, but the servers with the data are located right here at Wes.

The database includes the names, addresses and Social Security or driver’s license numbers of approximately 2,800 Connecticut College library patrons, 12 Wesleyan University patrons and three from Trinity.

They don’t suspect that any info has actually been stolen, but the students who could have been affected were contacted.

Also, how weak must our security must have been. These are spammers, lowest of the hackers. There’s not even that much money to be made with a low level server… Doesn’t give much incentive to try hard, yet here they are.

they have whatever you gave them when you applied. I doubt wes regularly hires private investigators…
