Red and Black Calling Society is hiring

The Red and Black Calling Society is hiring. They “reach out to our alumni and fundraise for Wesleyan.” Self-described as “one of the most sought after jobs with one of the highest hourly wages” on campus, Red and Black merely requires that you cold-call alumni and politely request that they send us large amounts of cash. An essential service, I suppose.

Interested? Attend one of the following sessions in PAC 002:

Date: Sunday, Sept. 7
Time: 5:00 PM

Date: Monday, Sept. 8
Time: 8:00 PM

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 9
Time: 8:00 PM

Work-study and non-work-study students are equally accepted. Contact Sarah Bell at sbell@wes for more info.

It can be awkward, but it’s fun to talk to alums about what they’re up to/interesting things on campus/whatever comes to mind. And it pays really well, and helps bring down the exorbitant cost of attending this school. So overall, it’s a little soulless, but it’s fundamentally a good job.

Hah, I share your perspective on solicitation (especially being on the giving end… everyone knows that can be unpleasant).
