King-sized volleyball weekend

Lost among another round of budget cuts and the impending election is the volleyball team’s pretty awesome season–19-5 overall, 7-1 in NESCAC play, and 12-1 in its last 13 matches.

This weekend, Wes has arguably its two most important matches of the year: Tufts at 8:00 Friday night and Amherst at noon Saturday. I can’t promise there will be candy tomorrow night, but I can promise that Wes clinches first place in the NESCAC–and the right to host the NESCAC Championship next weekend–if it wins both matches.

Plus, with a win over the Jeffs, Wes clinches a share of the Little Three title for the first time since 1992. Amherst hasn’t won in Middletown since the Democrats regained control of Congress. Let’s make it a double whammy and bring the tournament here.

Date: Friday, Oct. 31 (Tufts); Saturday, Nov. 1 (Amherst)
Time: 8:00 PM (Tufts); 12:00 PM (Amherst)
Place: Silloway Gym
