One Particular Post-Election Article

There is currently a rash of post-election articles, many of them quite good. My friend brought this one to my attention and I decided to post it because it resonated in an unusual way. Though the references are slightly before our time (Reagan becomes Clinton, Mr. Rogers becomes Sesame Street, the Iran Hostage Crisis is Kosovo, the Hite Report Monica Lewinsky, etc.), this article will ring true for anyone with baby-boomer parents.

Certainly it rings true. Is it true? Or is it but one more of the hundreds of starry-eyed articles riding this wave of possibility? I have no idea; it struck a chord.

The odd thing is that I don’t think of GenXers as particularly young, themselves. I was fooled by the article’s tone until the part about “The Son of Sam” (I suppose ze could have been talking about the Spike Lee movie – but, I didn’t think so.) Up until then, I thought it was very insightful.
