Wesleyan is still battling it out against American University for the title of PETA’s “Most Vegetarian Friendly College” of 2008. While both American and Wesleyan are run by Bon Appetit, the title would surely help to lure more prefrosh to Wesleyan, so go ahead and vote one last time. Voting ends November 17th.
We lost yay.

um. that link to “a taste of peta” wasn’t really appropriate. Animal euthanasia is a complicated issue, and the author glossed over the very reason why in the last paragraph of the article; namely, that in order for shelters to adopt a no-kill policy they have to first adopt stricter rules for accepting animals into the shelter. It turns a blind eye to part of the problem so that they can say the overall problem is solved. not quite cut and dry. surely there are better PETA criticisms out there.

I hope wesleyan loses. PETA is crazy, and I dont want carnivores to become a minority here.

it depresses me how much people like to complain. i’m a vegetarian and i’m happy with the food options at wesleyan. i think some people are just never going to be satisfied.

Vegetarians, unite against PETA. Don’t buy into this bullshit:Here’s a taste:http://www.newsweek.com/id/134549/Do the rest of the research on your own. Read about what you support even if you’re just in it for the coffee and prefrosh.

But this only proves that Bon Appetit cares more than anyone else about this, not anything about our actual dining program. People just want free coffee.

why are we supporting PETA again? are we really interested in gaining favor with a hypocritical cult movement?

Because meatarians deserve a special too. And with only 1 special, you can’t always get what you want. There are days when the special has no meat.

If Wesleyan is either the #1 or #2 most vegetarian-friendly college in the country, why is there never a vegetarian special at Summerfields? Every week day I get my hopes up and they are dashed over and over.
