EPortfolio Gets a Makeover

New EPortfolio is up. I am unsure about the Cardinal, but looks good.

Customizable themes!

You can also add more widgets to your Portfolio, including RSS feeds of Wesnews, the Roth blog, the Argus… even Wesleying. That is useful!

    Wesleyan Bird Fascists?

The single most useful thing to be able to put on the homepage would be mail, but they left that out. Also, RSS feeds can’t display images, making almost any non-news feed useless. Fix that. Please?

If our mascot was actually “The Bird Monster” I could support that. The Wesleyan Bird Monsters!

well, the cardinal was NEVER used before, so I applaud them for trying to incorporate some sort of mascot thing. bowdoin loves their polar bear, williams loves their purple cow, brown loves their nonpolar bear… Wes should be embracing its inner cardinal.

is it just me, or does it seem like wesleyan is trying to use the ‘cardinal’ more now than before? on the page for 2013 admits, it says “the wesleyan cardinal and i would like to welcome you to wesleyan” and in general the cardinal is being used more often…
    this isn’t a mascot-loving, face-painting school. they should chill.

yeah what exactly is new here? i guess you couldnt add stuff from your portfolio- academic history, etc.- on to your “home page”, but that’s just eliminating one click.

I’m pretty sure that you could always add RSS feeds… What actually is different about this besides the fancy banners?
