Aggressive Police Brutality at Colby

In an incident that many Wesleyan students can empathize with, Colby students were attacked with unnecessary force by their town’s cops during an escalating event in their student center. 3 students were arrested; one was restrained and bleeding from the head and another was maced several times. Hundreds of Colby students held a school-wide protest today and asked for an apology by their president, but he has only replied that they’re looking into it.
I have not heard of any college-wide solidarity movements, but this could be another step. Recently P-Safe and Middletown’s police have made many efforts to strengthen their relationships with the Wesleyan campus. We need to continue this action in order to prevent the past from repeating.
