Post-Finals party weekend at The Shadow Room

The Shadow RoomA new café and lounge is opening this weekend on Main Street. Owner Nick Cacaci says that The Shadow Room, located across from Brew Bakers where Mega Wraps used to be, is “part art gallery, part NYC-style lounge that will boast an atmosphere unlike anything in town.”

Cacaci wants to celebrate The Shadow Room’s opening with Wes students before we all leave for the summer, so he will be hosting a post-Finals party weekend for Wes students, with specials including:

  • $2 PBR
  • $3 drafts
  • $5 cocktails and martinis
  • Appetizer specials

Dates: Friday, May 15 & Saturday, May 16
Time: 8:00 PM – midnight
Place: The Shadow Room (170 Main)

Yes, it’s “nice of him”, but it’s also a really good marketing strategy. Obviously, he’s hoping that Wes students will form a big part of his customer base, and so he’s catching us before we leave and when many of us will be in the mood to party (after finals are over).

I just got a wrap from there earlier today. I’m not sure what their long term plans are, but the mega wraps food (and menu) are still there for now.

Hey, its Nick the owner. I appreciate the comments. I have decided to create a more progressive product and image to carry the Mega Wraps menu for lunch, and bring a completely different ambiance and dinner menu for the evening. Mega Wraps was a great lunch concept, but I always wanted to bring a lounge to Middletown, so I converged the 2 concepts. I have hired muralists and artists from both Wesleyan and the local community and hope to bring something for everyone. Micro-brewed local beers, antique beers, exotic cocktails, with a funky & trendy vibe. Please come by on Friday and check us out, and have a great summer!!

WOW, best of both worlds!! Thank goodness I don’t have to go without a wrap. And I love that it involves the local community. Major props, Nick.

Hi it is a restaurant too so customers under 21 can still hang out in the dining room. A limited food menu will be available this weekend.
