Dawes, Rumspringa, Papa, and Milo and The Fuzz At Eclectic

There’s a seriously great show at Eclectic this Friday. Dawes, Rumspringa, Papa, and Milo and The Fuzz are all making their way from separate corners of the country to the ballroom.  Tickets are $3 at Usdan Wednesday through Friday. Ethan Berger ’10 writes in with all the glorious details about the bands below the cut.

DAWES (12:30-1:30)
With wonderful contributions from Johnathan Wilson (Monsters of Folk) and Pat Sansone (Wilco) their self titled debut on ATO records (Radiohead, My Morning Jacket) definitely draws comparisons to that infamous 1960’s Laurel Canyon sound. After finishing up a tour with Deertick and receiving substantial publicity from Rolling Stone this past month it’s only a matter of time before they become a dorm room name.
RUMSPRINGA (11:20-12:10)
Two piece band out of Los Angeles signed to Cantora Records. After impressive showings at SXSW and Glastonbury they are returning to Wesleyan after a wonderful show last fall. Great live band for real, they’ll have you dancing, crying, laughing. They’re ready to accommodate your live needs.
PAPA (10:20-11:10)
When LA punk band Wires on Fire broke up a couple of years ago bassist Mikey Shoes joined Queens of the Stone Age and Drummer Darren Weiss started PAPA.  Weiss, who still drums is also the bands lead vocalist so he’s sort of pulling a Levon Helm here if you catch my drift. He does it well too which is always something to take note of.
MILO AND THE FUZZ (9:30-10:10)
Also getting ready for an upcoming CMJ showcase these young dudes from New York are going to start things off on the right note.
