A wheelchair-bound photojournalist with nothing to do but watch the neighbors grows obsessed with the surly guy across the way. But is our fellow voyeur the witness to a murder or just a pervert with an overactive imagination? Hitchcock’s landmark exercise in limited space is both suspenseful entertainment and masterful commentary on the medium.
