Soul Explosion, Thursdays at Fishbone Cafe

soul_explosionPosterbigJason Villani, aka WESU’s “Lord Lewis”, is hosting “Soul Explosion”, a regular Thursday DJ night at the Fishbone Cafe off Main Street on Court.

Villani has been the host of the “Rumpus Room“, WESU’s funk/soul/rare groove show, since 2002, and also used to host WESU’s monthly fundraiser, “Struttin”.

If nothing else compels you on campus Thursday nights this semester, there is this at the Fishbone:

Get ready for the baptism of raw heat: DJ Lord Lewis (WESU 88.1 Rumpus Room Radio Show) will be bringing you a brand new weekly spinning the best in rare, classic, and new funk, soul, afrobeat, killer party jams, and more!!! Drink specials and tons of free parking right across the street at the public parking garage. Guaranteed pure hot sauce excitement!

The Fishbone also has food and drink specials, and free public garage parking right across the street.

Date: Thursday, Oct. 15, and every Thursday this semester
Time: 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Place: Boney’s Lounge @ Fishbone Cafe, 106 Court St. Middletown, CT
Cost: $3

Between this place, the Shadow Room, and Public reaching out to Wes students so much this semester, looks like Main Street might be a destination beyond the Wednesday Bar Night scene.

debriefing sessions in Usdan led by counselors from the Women and Families Center.
Take Back the Night is an opportunity to support survivors and address the issue of
sexual violence especially at Wesleyan.
