From Donovan Arthen ’11:
Naia Kete is an inspirational musican from Western Massachusetts who has sung her way into the hearts of everyone who hears her. She began her career at 13 with the well known roots reggae band The Black Rebels, who have graced Wesleyan’s stage twice now.
Spreading her wings to record her first solo album, “Sweet Music,” at age 18 she has developed her own incredible sound that combines flavors of reggae, singer sogwriter genres, and R&B. With influences like Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, Nora Jones, Soul Live, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Morgan Heritage it is hard not to create an incredible sound that is loved by such a wide variety of people! For tunes check out: http://www.myspace.com/naiakete
