John deBoer, a Middletown dressmaker/costumer who sometimes does contract work for the Wesleyan Costume Shop, is offering to make you an awesome Halloween costume this year:
It’s Halloween time and I don’t have a lot of work at the moment, so I thought I’d offer my services to Wesleyan students. If you need any sewing done for a Halloween costume, I’d love to work with you. There’s not a whole lot of time left, so act fast, before I get all booked up! I charge $20/hour, plus materials.
I still haven’t put together a website yet but I’ve included some pictures of things I’ve made. I’m game to try anything you want, but I’m sorry that I can’t work with leather or fur.
You can reach me at taxine@yahoo.com (if you could put “Halloween Costume” in the subject line that would be helpful) or at (860) 262-8727. Looking forward to working with you on a unique costume.
Sounds like a sweet deal – if you’ve got ideas, give this guy a call instead of ordering online or rushing to iParty at the last minute.
