It’s up to you- New York, New Yoooooork!

yankees

So…. the Yankees just won the World Series for the 27th time against the Phillies. Even though the “World” Series only actually includes American teams, it’s still kinda a big deal that the Yanks came out on top for the first time since 2000. I’m a fair-weather Yankee fan of the worst kind, but I just have to join the chorus of

Let’s Go Yankees!! Let’s GO!!

Even if you don’t care about sports at all, this is a good heads up for any Wesleyan student. If you see about half of the Wesleyan population looking a bit sullen, just tell them that they just have to wait another 100 or so years for their day of vindication. The other half of campus may walk around looking a bit more snobbish than usual. Judge them for it on Friday.

I’m a New Yorker who doesn’t normally know what sports are playing at any given season. Why would I?

However. There’s always something awesome, that next day, seeing smiling faces everywhere under Yankee hats.

So screw the Yankees. Let’s go New York, let’s go.
