Mark McCloughan ’10, Center for Creative Reserach intern and organizer of the Usdan dance installation earlier this semester, sends in info about a talk with Eiko and Koma:
Artists-in-Residence Eiko & Koma will be giving a gallery tour and talk on Tuesday, December 15th at 7PM in Zilkha Gallery. The even will feature a tour, a showing of media works, and a discussion with the artists. In addition, Mark McCloughan ’10 will be performing live in one of the exhibition’s environments. For those students who missed the opening of the exhibition or just want a chance to hear more about the exhibition’s genesis, this is a great opportunity to get some time with the artists before the show closes on Sunday, December 20th.
You might have heard of Eiko because she teaches the Delicious Movements class here. She and Koma are a big deal in the dance world–they’re regularly featured on lists of the best contemporary choreographers. It’s really cool that they’re here at Wesleyan, so if you haven’t seen their work yet, definitely check it out.
Time: Tuesday, December 15 at 7:00 PM
