Interested in Israel/Palestine dialogue? Join WesShalom

Interested in becoming more involved in Israel/Palestine dialogue at Wesleyan, but not quite sure where you stand? Looking to reevaluate your current stand on this complicated set of issues?

The WesShalom Network is a new student group that hopes to provide a peace-oriented community for sharing resources, information, and ideas through events and open communication around the Israel/Palestine conflict. We envision a Middle East where all can live in dignity, and we think that building this place requires respectfully listening to the voices of people of all opinions, affiliations, and backgrounds.

We will be having our first open meeting this Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 pm in PAC 104. If you are at all interested, we encourage you to come. There will be engaging conversation and free cookies!

I don’t think that this group is advocating for a Palestinian surrender. No one is against an end to conflict.

It is criminal to teach a man not to defend himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks. – Malcolm X

P.S. I know this quote could be used to justify Israeli Aggression. That is bullshit. Palestinians have every right to fight back. Advocating ‘peace’ is advocating the status quo.
