Pakistan: What Went Wrong and Where To Go From Here
Is Pakistan a failed state? Was Pakistan destined to fall prey to extremists? What factors have contributed to the current situation in Pakistan?
Come find out on April 3rd, 4:30 PM at Shanklin 107 from Dr. Hassan Abbas. Dr. Abbas is a professor at Columbia University, a Harvard Fellow and has worked under the administrations of both Pervez Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto.
Dr. Abbas will talk about Pakistan in the context of regional developments as geopolitics play a critical role in South Asia. He will also reflect on Pakistan in a comparative context – for students to understand how regional conflicts and tensions have shaped internal development in Pakistan. Additionally, Mr. Abbas will talk about how Pakistan can be understood in the wider Muslim world reference.
This will be a great opportunity to learn about a country that is becoming a hot topic in American foreign policy.
