Shoot the Duke

Shoot the Duke is a hyper-sexed, ultraviolent, sweet-hearted new play presented by Second Stage. The play is about Gavrilo Princip, the man who inadvertantly started WWI by assassinating Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. In the moments before the assassination, Gavrilo engages in swordfights, shootouts, and barroom brawls, attempts to woo the love of his life and learns to love his dysfunctional terrorist group.

Those afraid of stage blood, nudity, and badassry should stay at home. Performances will be Thursday April 15, Friday April 16, and Saturday April 17 at 8 pm.
