Micah Feiring ‘11 and Ben Firke ‘12 are seeking your support in the WSA Presidential and Vice Presidential elections.
In case you missed the WSA’s all-campus email, it’s election time again! The WSA is an instrumental voice on campus and next year that voice will be heard like never before. I’m Micah Feiring, and I’m running for President because I want to stand up for the student body and deliver results. Running with me for Vice President is Ben Firke.
This year we co-sponsored the resolution to protect Financial Aid and worked to pass the Green Fund, which finances $85,000 for sustainable projects each year. I raised thousands of dollars to start a free late-night student-run café and fought for more lenient drug and alcohol policy. Ben revolutionized transportation with ZipCar, busses to the Meriden Amtrak station, and exposed the meal-plan flaws that cost students hundreds of dollars each semester.
Next year we will continue to protect financial aid, promote sustainable practices, and improve student life on campus. We will support campus culture by creating a state-of-the-art concert space. We will demand greater academic flexibility, improve the class registration system and implement a student-run EMT response program.
