In this second installment of the Demolition of MoCon Saga, we find McConaughy Hall now reduced to a pile of rubbish. The metal and glass cylinder that was exclusive to MoCon on campus, is no more.
Meanwhile, The Middletown Press seems to have just realized the issue now that demolition is already underway. Click here to catch up on some good ol’ townie Wes-hatred in the comments (the article has no new info).

I just want to add that the beginning critiques on the article (named “good ol’ townie wes hatred” by the poster of mogone) were critiques of the institution, not the students at wes. I have had many critiques of wesleyan as a school in my time there (for example, how many of us are upset that they are destroying mocon). To respond to those frustrations with personal attacks on the residents of middletown who are a diverse group that cannot all be represented in a few words is just gross.

It’s a shame that you believe that all Middletown residents are like the people that do most of the posting about the Press articles…you are judging the whole city on those few who seem to post simply for sake of posting…and I wonder how many of those who are continuously complaining about anything and everything actually voted in the elections or have ever tried to do anything else except put their tiresome complaints up on these posts…

I am perfectly willing to admit that Wesleyan brings something great to Middletown. I readily admit it. I also readily admit that Middletown is less than ideal. In four years, I did NOT see Wes-bashing come up as a major problem in Middletown — of course there are some frustrated people — but let’s not start fires where there aren’t any.
